I couldn't wait anymore, so I called the insurance company to get the status on the Remicade predetermination. It has been approved! I'm hoping that my first infusion will be scheduled by the end of next week...but I've thought that a dozen times before. Because Remicade can activate latent TB, many doctors are routinely testing all their patients for TB. Not sure what my doctor's policy is, but a TB test will add a few days to my wait. I'd also be surprised if there weren't some standard blood work that needs to be done as well. Now that the will-they-pay-for-it frustration is over, I can get back to the will-Remicade-be-worse-than-Crohn's worry.
