- I've been in the tech industry for 16 years, but, at some point, I just got tired of keeping up with it all. As I told a management professor once: I'm ready to tell other people what to do instead of doing it myself. At about the same time that I got sick, I was made the dev lead on my project. Now, instead of doing all the web and database stuff myself, I get to tell another developer what to do :) I'm still responsible for the maintenance for the applications I developed, but the new applications will be the new developer's responsibility.
- I spent most of my day setting up a new test server. We had an old POS Compaq we inherited from the customer, but it had one problem too many. I patched the OS, installed IIS and SQL Server 2K5, and copied over one of my production databases. All is good :)
- I was listening to two of my favorite podcasts (Daily Breakfast and Catholic in a Small Town), and they mentioned a new website, Plurk. It like Twitter, but, then again, it's not. I love it! My profile is here.
- I love the new Facebook layout! It's much less cluttered and MySpace-like. Did I mention I love it?
