I am currently trying to re-introduce exercise back into my life. I've always had an active lifestyle. Throughout highschool and college I percipitated in numerous sports and hobbies such as football, boxing, and weight lifting. I believe in the power of exercise! However it is hard when you are with someone who has Crohn's because most of the time they do not feel like exercising at all. It's not that they are lazy about it or anything. Their bodies actually spend themselves completely just getting through the day! They can not perform at a comparable level either. So it is important not to pressure them too much about it. Let them deciede when they feel comfortable with exercising. However you shouldn't forsake your routine because they do not join you. Simply suggesting them comming along for a walk with you instead of the hitting the gym may get their interest. But don't ride them about it because that just causes stress and we know what stress can do! Any way you must understand their limitations! If you push them they will almost instinctually argue with you and put stress in your relationship! They want to do what is best for them but their bodies are not telling them that excersice is best for them and it is very important to know in some cases, although ideally so, exercise can be too streneous and they do need to be careful.
